Daniel Crouch Rare Books Opens New York Gallery

Daniel Crouch Rare Books of London has announced the opening of a gallery in New York on November 1. The gallery is located at 24 East 64th Street. Hours will run from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Daniel Crouch Rare Books specializes in cartography. Atlases, wall maps, separately published maps, and charts from the 15th-19th century highlight their selections. They are members of the ABA (Antiquarian Booksellers' Association), ILAB (International League of Antiquarian Booksellers) and various other professional organizations. As might be inferred from their Manhattan address, they focus on material of the highest importance and best condition. Unusual and uncommon material is also a specialty.

The firm was founded in London in 2010 by two veterans of the book trade. Daniel Crouch has been selling books since his school days 20 years ago, starting at Sanders, then as a business developer in the book department at Bonham's auction house. In 2002, he was brought in to Shapero Rare Books to develop their map and atlas department. Nick Trimming started at Bonham's and joined Crouch at Shapero in 2003. In 2010, they joined together to form the bookselling partnership of Daniel Crouch Rare Books.

The New York gallery will be managed by Noah Goldrach.
