Twelve New Catalogues Reviewed This Month

12 new catalogues.

12 new catalogues.

This month we take a look at 12 new catalogues in our Reviews section. Primary Sources Uncharted Americana has published their first catalogue. Their specialty is unique or rare material in the field, primarily manuscript and short run ephemeral items. They aren't alone in terms of type of material this month. Kaaterskill Books offers Americana primarily in the form of manuscripts, broadsides, documents and other less than full book size selections. Stuart Lutz Historic Documents also offers such items, mostly signed and pertaining to America. The William Reese Company offers a catalogue strictly of manuscripts. David M. Lesser Fine Antiquarian Books has a new catalogue mostly of pamphlets and shorter material in Americana. Samuel Gedge Ltd. also has a catalogue filled with a variety of ephemeral items, except theirs are mostly from England and continental Europe.

Back of Beyond Books, the American Southwest specialist, is covering all sorts of material in their largest catalogue ever, including literature, Native Americana, mining, trade catalogues, art and poetry. John Windle Bookseller and Henry Sotheran Ltd. have combined forces from both sides of the Atlantic to present a catalogue devoted to Charles Dickens. Patrick McGahern Books focuses on the land where it is always winter – the Arctic. A broad range of material is offered in catalogues from Raptis Rare Book, Shapero Rare Books, and Peter Harrington.
