No, it’s not the depression and it’s not the Mafia [although for safety sake [mine] I’m capitalizing it]. The Bookies, for the second year are gathering in Detroit for their Bookfest aka the Annual Detroit Festival of Books. It is sponsored by the Book Club of Detroit and has been organized by chairman Ryan M. Place.
This year’s fair will include one of the region’s best known rare book dealers, John King, as well as California’s Andy Foster of Milton & Hubble Books. Other prominent sellers and collectors are also expected to be there.
For tag-alongs there will be about 200 vendors of all descriptions, 2 beer vendors, a DJ playing funk music and a ton of stuff, some of it legal, in the parking lot.
It is a 1 day event to be held Sunday, July 15th, 2018.
As many as twenty-thousand are expected to attend. If you go that will make it 20,001.
