Description

The Book Auction Rooms have been a mainstay for the book dealer & collector for centuries. Dealers often refer to landmark sales, Doheny, Hoe, Jones, & Streeter, to name but a handful, the prices realized often seem modest by today’s standards. Occasionally copies of books that sold in those sales resurface to excitement and a flurry of competition, their values enhanced; to own the “Streeter copy” of a benchmark work in Americana is indeed a prize. Connecticut Book Auctions brings that respect for what has gone before with an eye to the future and hopes you will make some new memories of your own at our sales. We select material for auction based on a number of criteria; scarcity, condition, provenance, & whimsey, all with the goal of building a well rounded and interesting sale. We subscribe to the tenet that the hammer price is the price, with never a buyer’s premium. Our principals are proud of thirty plus years’ experience in all aspects of the scarce, rare, and out of print book trade and we pledge a commitment to forthright business practices and a customer friendly environment.
