Sotheby's Parke-Bernet was an interim name used in the 1970s for the New York auction house that was once Parke-Bernet, but had become an arm of London's Sotheby's after its purchase by that firm in 1964. For a while after the purchase, the house continued to operate under the Parke-Bernet name, and by the mid-1970s, Parke-Bernet was dropped and only Sotheby's name was used. Auction records for this house from the period when only the Parke-Bernet name was used are found under that name, and those from the time after that name was dropped entirely are listed under Sotheby's.
